Smart extraction
If an archive already contains a single folder, Bandizip skips the duplicate wrapper and extracts straight into place. One less directory to delete, every time.
Code page rescue
Legacy ZIPs store filenames in local encodings. Bandizip detects EUC-KR, Shift-JIS, GB2312 and Big5, so a 2011 archive opens with readable names instead of question marks.

Yes. The Standard edition is free for personal and commercial use and supports the same formats as the paid builds. It shows ads in the interface. Professional, at 30 USD per user, removes them and adds the password manager, archive repair, in-archive image preview, password recovery and 64-thread compression.
Windows 7 through Windows 11, with 32-bit, 64-bit and ARM64 builds. On a Snapdragon laptop, take the ARM64 package. The portable edition runs from any folder without installation and writes nothing to the registry.
No. It extracts RAR and RAR5 for free, but RAR compression is proprietary to RARLAB, so creating .rar files requires WinRAR. Create ZIP, 7Z, ZIPX, TAR, TGZ, LZH, ISO, GZ, XZ and SFX instead — all of them open anywhere.
The archive was created before UTF-8 filenames were standard. Open it in the Bandizip window, choose Code Page, and pick the encoding that matches the source — EUC-KR for Korean, Shift-JIS for Japanese, GB2312 or Big5 for Chinese. The preview updates before you extract anything.
